Marketplace guidelines

Registration and account

Registration, sign-in, seller profiles and listings are free. There are no basic, monthly or listing fees, and no commission. Once your account is created, you can immediately create, edit and deactivate your profile and listings, with no application procedure or waiting period. Email confirmation of your account serves only account security and spam prevention; it does not verify your information.

Swiss-bred: a self-declaration

With each listing, you explicitly confirm that you bred the animals yourself in Switzerland. We do not check this beforehand or award a certification. Passing imported animals off as your own breeding is misuse; see below.

What you can offer

Neocaridina and Caridina dwarf shrimp that you have bred yourself. Price, quantity, region and contact details must be accurate; any uploaded image must show your own animal.

Direct contract with the buyer

If a buyer contacts you through your listing, the purchase contract is between you and the buyer, not Garnelenfischer. You handle contact, ordering, payment, shipping and warranty directly with the buyer. Garnelenfischer does not accept payments or collect a fee.

For shipping damage or shrimp arriving dead from a third-party sale, the individual seller is also the contact, rather than Garnelenfischer. Suitable evidence includes an uninterrupted unboxing video or, at least, time-stamped photos. These are evidence, not prerequisites for raising a complaint. Rights concerning hidden defects that were not apparent on unboxing are also reserved. The buyer's statutory warranty rights under Art. 197 ff. OR remain unaffected.

No exclusivity

You may also sell your animals through your own channels, shops, fairs or classified listings at any time. There is no duty to report sales to Garnelenfischer and no restriction on selling outside the platform. Moderation after publication; no contractual penalty

We do not review listings in advance, so moderation takes place afterwards. For false information, unlawful content, imported animals misrepresented as your own breeding, or spam, we remove the listing or entire profile and may suspend the account. There is no contractual penalty.

No active buyer protection

Garnelenfischer does not process payments, hold funds or operate an escrow account. Buyer protection through payments secured by the platform is therefore unavailable. The individual seller is the contact for disputes arising from third-party sales. Such buyer protection is being prepared but is not yet active. The requirements still missing are an integrated payment provider, seller identity checks, shipment tracking, a process for potentially delayed payouts, a refund process and legal approval of the necessary contract terms.

Reviews

Only sellers can be reviewed, never an individual animal or product. Garnelenfischer's own food and other products have no review system; no reviews are collected or published for them.

How a review is created. The seller confirms a completed sale for exactly one of their listings in their account. This creates exactly one review link, which they pass to the buyer themselves through the communication channel they already used. Each link allows a single review and expires after 60 days. No account is needed to submit a review.

What that means and what it doesn't mean. The seller confirmed the sale; nobody independently checked it. Garnelenfischer is not a party to the purchase contract and sees neither payment nor handover. Every review therefore says “Marketplace sale confirmed by the seller”, expressly not “Verified purchase”. There is no certification, advance review or starting rating. A seller with no reviews has none displayed on their profile, not even an empty row of stars.

Replies, reports and moderation. The reviewed seller may reply publicly exactly once; the reply then remains unchanged. Signed-in users may report a review and give a reason. Reporting does not hide the review; it flags it for checking. Only the operator can hide it, particularly for insults, false factual claims, third-party personal data, advertising or obvious abuse. Reviewing yourself, duplicate reviews and reusing a link are blocked by the server.

Notifications

You can choose to receive notifications when a particular seller publishes a new listing and, separately, a weekly digest of new listings. Both are optional and off by default. Both require an explicitly ticked checkbox followed by email confirmation. The confirmation email comes from hallo@garnelenfischer.ch; the subscription becomes active only after clicking the confirmation link. An account, purchase or submitted review does not subscribe anyone. Every message identifies the sender and has an unsubscribe link that works immediately without signing in.
